22 travelGBI April 2015 Theatreland GlasGow's Clyde auditorium is the first venue for a new 14-date tour from comedy duo Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer. Called 25 Years of Reeves and Mortimer: The Poignant Years, it will be their first tour since 1995. The show will be a celebration of the first 25 years of their professional collaboration, including hit TV shows Vic Reeves Big Night Out, Smell of Reeves & Mortimer and Shooting Stars. Fans will hope to see some of their most popular characters such as Man With the Stick, The Stotts and Mulligan and O'Hare. They will be coming to Glasgow on November 11, then venues across the UK, ending in Brighton on December 4. RaGley Hall's Battle Proms Picnic Concert will take place on august 15 – the 70th anniversary of Victory in Japan Day (V-J Day). Visitors to the country estate in alcester, warwickshire, will enjoy classical music, choreographed spitfire and cavalry displays, cannon fire and a firework finale overlooking the lake. The Battle Proms takes much of its historical inspiration from the Napoleonic wars, which ended 200 years ago at the Battle of waterloo. as well as marking this 200th anniversary, the Battle Proms team is also planning to celebrate 75 years since the Battle of Britain and 70 years since V-J Day, when world war Two Battle Proms picnic concert marks 70th anniversary of V-J Day HaMleT, starring Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role, will be broadcast to 550 cinemas in the UK on october 15 as part of National Theatre live. The sold-out play begins its 12-week run at london's Barbican Theatre on august 5, until october 31. National Theatre live is an initiative by the National Theatre to broadcast live performances onto cinema screens around the world. since its first season in 2009, almost four million people have experienced the work of National Theatre live in cinemas. Cumberbatch is an international multi-award winning theatre, television and film actor, best known for playing the title role in the BBC's Sherlock. Cumberbatch's Hamlet heads for the cinemas ended with the surrender of Japan on august 15,1945. TV and radio presenter Pam Rhodes will host the event, which will include classics from Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture and favourites such as Jerusalem, land of Hope and Glory and Rule Britannia. TiCKeT agency Ticketmaster UK has moved to a new office in the heart of the Northern Quarter in Manchester. The office is home to nearly 350 employees, working in the groups department, call centre, customer service, iT, account management and HR services. Vic and Bob return to the stage after 20 years THe hit show celebrating The Beatles will head for the band's home town to mark the official re-launch of the £2.8 million refurbishment of the Royal Court Theatre. one of the most popular shows in london's west end, let It Be will run in liverpool from october 8 to November 14. The opening will also coincide with John lennon's '75th birthday' which falls on october 9. The production originally opened at the Prince of wales Theatre in september 2012, before transferring for a year-long run at the savoy Theatre from January 2013 – February 2014. Beatles show to mark Liverpool theatre revamp run at the Garrick Theatre. it boasts more than 40 of The Beatles' greatest hits including Twist and Shout, She loves You, Yesterday, Hey Jude, Come Together and, of course, let It Be. Beckham's team limber up its opening night on June 24. The Phoenix Theatre is taking bookings up to october 24, 2015. it is based on the 2002 comedy film which starred Parminder Nagra, Keira Knightley and Jonathan Rhys Meyers.
